READY TO JOIN A THRIVING ECOSYSTEM AND FIND YOUR PURPOSE?

Bring positive change to local communities as part of a diverse, intelligent and fabulous team that’s disrupting the impact investment landscape. Enjoy flexible working and generous leave, a stunning, state-of-the-art collaborative workspace and a supportive and fun culture where every day is rewarding and challenging (in the best possible way!).

A BIT ABOUT US

At Sefa Partnerships, we believe there’s a better, simpler way to create real change in the world. We’re a charity founded to support benevolent relief to disadvantaged communities and people during times of need in urban and rural centres in Australia. We bring together private, government and philanthropic dollars as blended finance for not-for-profit and for-purpose organisations to help them grow and thrive. We also help them build capacity and scale their impact over time.

We work closely with our sister organisation, Sefa, under a joint strategy to create a world in which investing in capability and capital values purpose and contributes to reduced structural disadvantage in Australia.

Team Sefa Partnerships is a group of avid tea drinkers (and some coffee connoisseurs too), each with a strong case of wanderlust. We’re a diverse bunch of generalists, often immersed in deep and meaningful discussions, always learning from each other. We balance our weekly team gatherings with a healthy love of chocolate – and the occasional choreographed dance session. But above all, we're united in our commitment to making sure great social enterprises can thrive well into the future.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a permanent Social Finance Relationship Manager to support the Head of Portfolio Management and play a key role in the social finance team, working on all aspects of the investment process, so that together we can achieve our goals across Australia’s for-purpose ecosystem.

  • We are a small, dynamic, impact investment organisation.

  • You will have strong analytical skills and the ability to work positively and collaboratively with clients and stakeholders.

  • We offer a flexible working environment and the opportunity to influence the future success and direction of Sefa.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Every day will be different. On Monday, you might be discussing the upcoming deal pipeline with the team, and in the afternoon running scenario analysis for a working capital loan. Tuesday, you could be speaking to an existing borrower to learn about their updates in the past year, demystifying different types of capital for our clients. In the second half of the week, you might be collaborating with other team members on an affordable housing report or identify philanthropic partners for a blended capital solution. You could be ending the week by presenting an innovative investment structure to the Investment Committee and tackling their robust questions about impact and financial risk.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Passion, energy, commitment and understanding of the impact investing / social finance / social enterprise sectors.

  • Strong analytical skills, e.g. financial analysis and/or investment assessments.

  • Strong relationship building and communication skills, with the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders.

  • Ability to operate and take ownership in an organisation that is constantly evolving to meet shifting market demands.

For a full list of responsibilities, tasks and required skills, check out the position description.

WHAT YOU GET

Apart from working with a great bunch of passionate and smart people, you also get five weeks of annual leave with the option to extend your holidays through additional unpaid leave. Hello holidays!

You can also work from home, half of the time or as you need, depending on what’s on your plate at work and at home. Though once you see our incredible offices at Yirranma (translated from Gadigal to “many-create”) Place, we doubt you’ll want to stay away for long. The brand new, purpose-built precinct brings together a community of social purpose organisations and offers countless perks, including:

  • Great food at the in-house social enterprise café and kitchen (try the amazing chilli and maple baked pumpkin salad);

  • Fully equipped showers, lockers, ironing stations, Dyson hairdryers and more;

  • Breakfast club – where you can kick off your workday with a light breakfast and some quality chat with your Yirranma Place community;

  • Wellness days complete with massages, yoga and prizes;

  • Two Good Twosdays – a monthly buffet-style lunch, family style; and

  • Public history lecture series and ‘Hub Talks’.

If you thrive on variety, building deep relationships and want to carve your own path with an organisation that supports your personal growth, we’d love to meet you.
